🏅 The NRL and NRLW worlds will come together tonight (8pm AEST) to find out who will win the men’s and women’s Dally M Medal for the 2024 season.

Knights superstar Kalyn took out the men’s gong last year while Tamika Upton won the women’s award to complete the Newcastle double.

Ahead of the 2023 season the NRL made several changes to the Dally M voting process, with two independent judges handing out six points each on a 3-2-1 basis.

It could mean that a player who is five votes behind in the final round of the NRL regular season could somehow overtake the leader if they manage to pull in six votes.

Dally M Leaderboard after Round 12

  • 31 points — Dylan Edwards (Panthers)

  • 30 points — Nicho Hynes (Sharks)

  • 27 points — Daly Cherry-Evans (Sea Eagles)

In the overall category, there’s a cut and dry favourite, with Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes widely tipped to win the Dally M Medal.

🤝 The New South Wales Rugby League are reportedly “ropeable” with the way Michael Maguire’s exit played out.

Maguire coached the Blues to a State of Origin series win earlier this year after signing a multi-year contract with NSWRL.

However he was granted an immediate release from that deal this week to sign a three-year deal as head coach at the Broncos.

Reports are; During a presentation to the NSWRL board covering a series review and preview for 2025 (on Friday morning), Madge made no mention of any approach or interest from the Broncos... and within 72 hours he’s signed a three-year deal with the Broncos.
