🇦🇺 AFL trade deadline day is here, with teams set for a frantic final 12 hours of dealing on the toughest remaining moves before it all slams shut at 7:30pm EDT.

Brodie Grundy, Jacob Hopper, Jack Bowes, and Jack Gunston all secured moves on the penultimate day of the AFL's trade period. 

While a handful of the most contentious trades remain up in the air - and there’s always one or two that simply fall apart.

Brisbane’s move for Western Bulldogs midfielder Josh Dunkley threatens to be one of those, with both sides remaining far apart on a move for the 2022 best and fairest winner.

🏉 Seven players will make their Kangaroos debut in Australia’s opening World Cup clash with Fiji.

Coach Mal Meninga confirmed his squad on Tuesday night, with James Tedesco also making his captaincy debut.

The Panthers and Eels players will not feature in this game, with Meninga opting to rest the grand finalists for the opener.

That means Daly Cherry-Evans gets the first shot at halfback, while Cameron Murray will play in his preferred position at lock.

Meninga has also followed Queensland's blueprint of a one-two punch at hooker, with Ben Hunt to start and Harry Grant to come off the bench.

🇦🇺 Collingwood and Melbourne have finalised a deal to see Brodie Grundy become a Demon.

In return, Collingwood will get pick 27.

Grundy had signed a $7 million, seven-season deal with the Magpies ahead of the 2020 season, which Kane Cornes labeled "ridiculous" at the time.

Collingwood has also picked up Billy Frampton from Adelaide in exchange for a future third-round pick.

RACE 3 - GLINT OF HOPE (6) has improved sharply for the step up to 2000m in her past two campaigns, and she looks to have built the platform to do the same here

RACE 4 - AESOP (7) ran well behind a good winner fresh and went right on with that promise last time, storming through the line to win at Sandown like one that would be better again third up and at 2000m. 

RACE 7 - ECONOMICS (5) returned a much better horse from a break, winning the Heritage at Rosehill in fine style. That form has been franked.

🐴 Top Ranked will miss the Cox Plate, and his career is in doubt after pulling up short in a gallop at The Valley on Tuesday morning.

At around 6.30am near the 150m mark, the Epsom Handicap winner went amiss in his near hind leg.

Top Ranked did not complete the gallop with his rider dismounting and vets immediately on the scene.
