Gold, Silver & Bronze

đĽ Australia's Alisa Trew, 14, won an historic Olympic gold in the women's park skateboarding final.
Trew becomes the country's youngest medallist and she will stand on top of the podium. Trew scored a clutch 93.18 on her third and final run to beat Cocona Hiraki of Japan and Sky Brown of Great Britain.
đĽ Australia won bronze in the menâs cycling team sprint, beating France in their ride-off. The combination of Leigh Hoffman, Matthew Richardson and Matthew Glaetzer rode 41.597 seconds to beat Franceâs in front of the raucous and parochial home crowd.
đ It was heartbreak for the Boomers in overtime.
Despite shooting out to a 20-point lead partway through the second quarter. And, an incredible fall away jumper from Patty Mills tied it up at 82 apiece with just 1.4 seconds on the clock. The Boomers couldn't restrain Nikola Jokic and Serbia who sealed their place in the semifinal with a 95-90 win.
"We put ourselves in a great position to win that game and we come up short like that in overtime... it's heartbreaking," - Josh Giddy told Nine with tears in his eyes following the loss.
An Evan Fournier three-pointer from just over half court blew the roof off Bercy Arena, securing France's place in the semi-finals and a guaranteed shot at a medal after they disposed of the highly fancied Canada 82-73.
đ´đťââď¸ Australia broke the men's team pursuit world record on day two of the Olympic track cycling program.
The combination of Olympic medallists Sam Welsford, Kelland O'Brien, Conor Leahy and Oliver Bleddyn clocked four minutes 40.730 seconds to easily beat reigning Games champions Italy in their round-one heat.
That sets up a gold-medal ride today against Great Britain, Australia's long-time rivals in the event.
đ¤˝đťââď¸ Australiaâs water polo Stingers overpowered Greece 9-6 to forge into the semi-finals of the womenâs tournament and another step closer to their first title since the inaugural event in Sydney 2000.
âľď¸ Australian leader Matt Wearn and the rest of the men's dinghy field must wait another day to decide their medals. Their final round was put on hold for the second consecutive day in Marseille because of the conditions.

đđťââď¸Jack Robinson claimed đĽ in Olympic surfing, falling to local Kauli Vaast in the gold medal match in Tahiti.
The Margaret River-raised surfer beat three-time world champion Gabriel Medina of Brazil earlier on Tuesday to claim a place in showpiece final.
But he fell 17.67 to 7.83 in the decider to the popular Vaast, who grew up kilometres from Teahupo'o, first riding the infamous break at age eight.
đď¸đ It was not an easy match, but the Australian pair of Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy have held their nerve to clinch a spot in the semifinals of the women's beach volleyball.
Artacho del Solar and Clancy prevailed, 21-19, 16-21, 15-12.
The silver medallists from Tokyo are now one win away from a gold medal game.
đđźââď¸ Jessica Hull says she's perfectly placed to end Australia's barren dozen years on the Olympic athletics track.
Hull cruised through her 1500m heat in Paris on Tuesday morning to secure a semi-berth in two days' time.
đś Australia's men's kayak four 500m team set an Olympic record, leaving the competition in their wake at the quarterfinals, sending a strong signal ahead of the semifinals.
𤢠Australia's team physician Dr Caroline Broderick has released the test results for gastro and respiratory illnesses among the Olympic team.
Of the 85 people tested, 44 had illnesses, 31 of them athletes and 13 officials. Of the 31 athletes ill, 16 had COVID.
Yesterday, Swimming Australia's head coach Rohan Taylor revealed some swimmers raced with COVID during their nine-day program at the pool, including 200m breaststroke silver medallist Zac Stubblety-Cook.

Farewell Dusty
đđź In case youâve been living under a rock: Dustin Martin, one of the greatest Richmond players to pull on the yellow and black jumper, has played his last game.
The three-time premiership player, triple Norm Smith medallist and 2017 Brownlow medallist played 302 games for the Tigers and booted 338 goals.
He played just 13 games this season as a back complaint hampered his fitness in the second half of the season. Uncertainty had also grown about his future at Richmond beyond 2024, given his lucrative seven-year contract was coming to an end and his former coach and premiership mentor, Damien Hardwick, had taken the reins at Gold Coast.
