π NRL
Dragons 24-32 Rabbitohs: (match report) Proud Bundjalung and Yuin man Cody Walker has put in a virtuoso performance to guide South Sydney to an impressive comeback 32-24 win to kick off the NRL's Indigenous Round.

Previews:
Wests Tigers (1.20) v Warriors (5.0): Twal, Garner back; new Warriors named. With just one victory in their last four outings, the Wests Tigers will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on the undermanned New Zealand Warriors.
Broncos (2.40) v Sharks (1.62): Boyd at fullback; Morris won't risk Ramien. The Broncos will be hoping head-to-head history counts for something, having beaten the Cronulla Sharks in each of their last six attempts. The Sharks fought their way to a nail-biting win over St. George Illawarra, which pushed them back inside the top eight.
Roosters (1.07) v Titans (10.0): Cordner out; Hipgrave, Lisone return. Sydney fell behind twice against a plucky Warriors outfit before prevailing 18-10. Meanwhile, the Titans put in a much-improved performance against the league-leading Panthers and almost produced one of the upsets of the season.

Andrew Johns' love for Souths star Cam Murray is no secret, and now he has given fans a hilarious tongue-in...
Cowboys (3.40) v Raiders (1.68): Asi, McGuire out; Bateman returns. Despite a long injury list, consecutive wins have the Canberra Raiders knocking on the door of the top four. Cowboys are coming off a gritty loss to the Sea Eagles in what was interim coach Josh Hannayβs first match.
Sea Eagles (2.50) v Panthers (1.58): Kikau returns; Walker and Koroisau close. The Sea Eagles bounced back from 3 straight defeats with consecutive victories and into the top 8 but awaiting them is a rampant Panthers outfit seeking its seventh straight victory.
Bulldogs (6.50) v Eels (1.14): (match preview) Lafai starts; Parra welcome back duo. The announcement of Trent Barrettβs arrival in 2021 might have inspired the Bulldogs, who will be keen to take another big scalp.
Storm (1.26) v Knights (4.25): (match preview) Seve starts; Randall and Crossland in. Closing out Indigenous Round, the Melbourne Storm will welcome the Newcastle Knights to Sunshine Coast Stadium. In one of the NRLβs most one-sided recent matchups, the Storm have beaten the Knights in 16 of their last 19 encounters.

Gerardo Bedoya: The story of the world's 'dirtiest' footballer
Known as 'The General' and 'The Beast', Bedoya accumulated 45 red cards during a 20-year playing career - which ended in 2015 - with a further two dismissals arriving from the dugout since.
Perhaps the most remembered, his 41st red card was awarded after he was penalised for elbowing an opponent and a subsequent kick-out at the floored player's head earned him a 15-match ban.

He received his first ban as an assistant coach after just 21 minutes in 2016.
Despite the mounting evidence to suggest otherwise, Bedoya's post-match defence was always that he was "not normally like this". (BBC)
A-League previews:
Western Sydney Wanderers (2.65) v Wellington Phoenix (2.35) Itβs a must-win game for the Wanderers as the race for a finals spot heats up, but they are up against one of the form teams in the A-League on Friday night, with Wellington serious contenders to win their maiden premiership.
Melbourne City FC (2.45) v Sydney FC (2.50): They may have the Premiership wrapped up but Sydney FC boss Steve Corica is adamant there will be no let up from his side heading into Saturdayβs clash with Melbourne City.
Newcastle Jets (2.15) v Western United (2.88): Both sides want to be playing Finals Football. For the higher up Western United, they recently torched the Victory and prior to that, put a combined 11 past ADL/CCM. For Newcastle, it was only 2 games ago they came out on top against Sydney FC to temporarily delay their Minor Premiership celebrations

Ashleigh Barty: World number one withdraws from US Open

World number one Ashleigh Barty has pulled out of the US Open because of concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
The first Grand Slam since tennis resumed is due to begin on 31 August at Flushing Meadows in New York.
The Australian, 24, was also set to play in the Western and Southern Open.
"There are still significant risks involved due to Covid-19 and I don't feel comfortable putting my team and I in that position," Barty told the Australian Associated Press.
"I wish the USTA all the best for the tournaments and I look forward to being back in the US next year."
