Novak Djokovic gets DEFAULTED from US Open

After a ball he hit struck a lines-woman in head/neck and she fell to ground.
Djokovic pleaded his case for many minutes, but to no avail.
Djokovic was undefeated in 2020 to this point.
There will be new men’s Grand Slam champion for the first time since 2014.
I'm not a huge Djokovic fan but this has to be a pretty soft call? Obviously, best wishes to the Lines-person.

Previews
Tonight: Melbourne (1.55) v Fremantle (2.45): Fremantle managed only 29 points against the Tigers but still managed to put a scare into the reigning premiers for the better part of three quarters.
Both sides are playing on very little rest here and, like many other games of late, it is difficult to envision a great deal of points.
Tomorrow: Adelaide Crows (3.60) v GWS Giants (1.28): The previously winless Crows are finally on the board.
Adelaide still find themselves as long outsiders, but the Giants do need to ensure they don’t overlook the Crows with their season on the line.
Tomorrow: Carlton (1.57) v Sydney Swans (2.25): A mixed bag from both sides in recent weeks.

‘You’ll remember the name’: Benji hails Manly rookie’s debut as ‘the best I’ve seen’

While this was the New Zealand international’s 321st game in the NRL, and question remains at to whether his time in the NRL is up, it was a debut for Manly five-eighth Josh Schuster.
“I’ve got to say though the young kid on the other team. It’s the best debut I’ve seen in my time ever.
“Absolutely (he’s got a big future), you’ll remember his name because he was commanding the ball in the game, whereas kids don’t usually do that. I was very impressed with him.”
The rise of Schuster will no doubt raise questions over Cherry-Evans’ long-term halves partner.

The bay colt led from start to finish, pulling away from the favourite in the final stretch to give his trainer Bob Baffert a record-equalling sixth victory.

Mitchelton-Scott lose their Yellow Jersey on stage 9
"I think we can be proud of what we did." - We came here for stage wins, we took the jersey, now let's go hunting!" - Adam Yates

The Australian-based team may not have any Australians but they did have the yellow jersey.
However, Adam Yates lost the leader's jersey to Primoz Roglic as Tadej Pogacar won stage nine of the Tour de France.
Yates was dropped on the final climb of the 153km route from Pau to Laruns on another punishing day in the Pyrenees.
Marc Hirschi led for over 80km before being caught 1.5km from the finish, where Pogacar edged fellow Slovenian Roglic in a sprint.
Mitchelton-Scott's Yates drops to eighth in the overall standings.

North v South leaves rugby fans in awe

There were incredible scenes as Will Jordan grabbed the stunning last-gasp score to win it for the South 36-35, in a match that oozed quality.
Such was the immense standard of rugby on show there are already calls to make the historic fixture part of the annual rugby calendar.
As for the All Blacks selectors, they have been left with a number of headaches and could undoubtedly field at least two utterly world class teams.
