PGA Tour's return comes with silence, distance and new habits

Although closed to the public, a small crowd strained to see over the hedges along Colonial Parkway. Others pressed right up against the chain-link fence.
In one of the few cheers of the day, one guy yelled, "Let's go, Rory!" as McIlroy walked after his tee shot.
At 8:46 a.m. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stepped forward, preparing for the moment of silence in remembrance of George Floyd, who died while in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25.
The 'Beefy Scientist'; Viewers were left adjusting their TV's after they saw Bryson DeChambeau who says he has gained 45lbs in weight over the past nine months, 20lbs of that in the three months the PGA Tour has been dormant.
In round one, the 26-year-old averaged 345 yards off the tee - the 2019 PGA Tour average was 294 yards - leading Scotland's Colin Montgomerie to tell BBC Sport that the "time has come" for officials to introduce a "tournament ball for professionals that only goes 80-85% as far".
Some of the players comments addressing the lack of a crowd:
Bill Hass: "The only comment I made to [Haas] is, like, you can hear people hitting tee shots around the course," Harman said. "I had to back off a couple putts because someone hit a tee shot. I was like, I don't remember being able to hear that here.
"I told my caddie early on, I didn't feel like I was hitting it as far because my adrenaline wasn't up," said U.S. Open champ Gary Woodland.
The TV experience was not a whole lot different and it's great to have it back. At the time of writing Collin Morikawa leads Bryson DeChambeau by 1 shot at -15, thru 11 holes.

An A-League Grand Final in New Zealand isn't off the table

The league's 11 clubs are set to undergo COVID-19 testing for players and staff on Monday, with training to resume this week.
The plan is to play the remaining games of the season across a 28-day period before embarking on a one-week finals campaign.
FFA head of leagues Greg O'Rourke says if border restrictions have been suitably eased by mid-August, finals could be played at various venues including overseas.
"Our intent is to take the finals series where we can bring it to the most crowd and if that means all the border restrictions are released by sort of mid-August then we would follow our normal principles of whoever earns the right to host could host," O'Rourke told AAP.
"That includes New Zealand too.
"If Wellington earn the right to host, then they could host the grand final."
The Phoenix are currently third on the league ladder after 20 matches. (ftbl)
