🗞 The Most Dramatic Final Chapter
G'day sports fans,
Classic Ashes quote: Ian Healy, placing a fielder a good few yards away at cover when Nasser Hussain (known as 'Beaky') was batting: “Let's have you right under Nasser's nose.”

🐴 A shocking fall marred the prestigious Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin with a number of jockeys coming down on the turn in awful scenes.
Rank outsider Amazing Star broke down on the bend, with a number of horses behind him caught up in the chaos.
Australian superstar Zac Purton jockey (Lucky Patch) was among the jockeys affected along with South African Lyle Hewitson (Amazing Star), Karis Teetan (Naboo Attack) and Yuichi Fukunaga (Pixie Knight). The other runner to be badly affected was the Yuga Kawada mount Danon Smash which all but fell and finished 70 lengths from the winner.
Purton was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the meeting, after winning the first three races on the card along with Hewitson and Fukunaga. Teetan was ruled fit to ride on.
Quote from David Hayes on Naboo Attack: "Today is one of my saddest days in racing. My favourite horse, my biggest horse, and my best horse has sadly passed away. A gentle giant who was about to show the world his greatness."
🔁 All Blacks star Jordie Barrett has opened up on a potential code switch to the NRL.
“To be honest, every off-season or every time I’m sitting there watching a rugby league game, I think, s**t I’d love to go over there and play some league just for a season,” Barrett said on What A Lad podcast.

🧑🏻💻 No, this isn’t a joke. The Financial Modeling World Cup was held this weekend entirely in Microsoft Excel.
Playing for a total prize of $20,000 — funded by Microsoft, of course.
The FMWC consists of 128 participants from each region of the world — in an esports type arena.
In the end, Australia’s Andrew “NGOAT” Ngai (representing his UK company), edged Michael Jarman, disappointing the “Jarmy’s Army” that followed Canada’s entrant.
The final pitted the two together in what was described as a “Heroes of Might and Magic” competition, where one fictional nation sent soldiers, knights and archers to conquer the other.
🌍 World Sport

🏎 Red Bull's Max Verstappen snatched his first Formula 1 world title in dramatic circumstances by beating Lewis Hamilton in a thrilling finale to the season in Abu Dhabi.
Hamilton had appeared in control of the race and on course for the title himself, despite controversy on the first lap, until a late safety car.
The race was restarted with one lap to go with Verstappen on fresh tyres and Hamilton on old ones and the Dutchman swept by to win the race.
It was in many ways a fitting end to one of the greatest and most contentious seasons in Formula 1 history - and the arguments over right and wrong will rage for some time to come.
However, Mercedes launched two protests - one for Verstappen overtaking Hamilton under safety car conditions just before the restart, and one over what they believe was officials not correctly following the rules on safety car procedures. It took officials a couple of hours but in the end, Verstappen was officially crowned champion.

🏎 Kimi Raikkonen’s 20-year F1 career came to an end
He won a world championship in 2007, but nothing beats when Raikkonen suffered a mechanical failure in Monaco, walked straight to his yacht, and was drinking beers in the hot tub by the end of the race.

While West Ham and Burnley played out a goaless draw. At Selhurst Parkk, Crystal Palace heaped the pressure on Rafa Benitez, winning 3-1.
