🐬 Wayne Bennett's Dolphins produced a spectacular NRL debut, defeating competition heavyweights Sydney Roosters 28-18 at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The NRL's newest franchise simply outclassed an error-riddled Roosters in front of over 32,000 as Bennett's side capped off celebrations honouring the late Arthur Beetson. (match report)

🦘 Wallabies coach Eddie Jones’ preferred squad ahead of this year’s Rugby World Cup appears to have been leaked.
Jones was at AAMI Park in Melbourne watching the Super Rugby ‘Super Round’ and working on the national squad in his notebook, as revealed by a photo posted to Twitter.
A Twitter user who snapped the notebook deleted the image an hour later but the Nine papers reported details of Jones’ plans, which he told them were “scribble”.

🐴 Injured jockey Ethan Brown will undergo surgery today to further evaluate the full extent of his abdominal injuries.
Brown has spent the past 48 hours at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in intensive care after a shocking fall at Flemington last Saturday in the Australian Guineas.

🎾 Alex de Minaur took down Tommy Paul during the Mexican Open Final to claim his maiden ATP 500 title.
Paul raced away to claim the opening set before de Minaur fought back and levelled proceedings to send it into a deciding set.
Once the third set got underway however it was one-way traffic for the Aussie as he claimed the 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory.
The Aussie put the American to the sword and once he put his foot down, Paul couldn’t keep up with him as the final got away.
His seventh ATP vicvictory could now launch him into the top 20 rankings, giving Australia two men in the best 20 male players on the planet.

Liverpool belied their recent struggles to thrash Manchester United as Mohamed Salah became their record Premier League goalscorer.
Cody Gakpo placed a shot in the bottom corner, Darwin Nunez headed in and Gakpo clipped a shot over David de Gea from Mohamed Salah's pass.
Salah scored a fine volley and Nunez headed in Jordan Henderson's cross.
Egyptian Salah scored again, his 129th league goal for the club, and Roberto Firmino added a seventh on the day it was announced he would be leaving the Club.
This is Manchester United's heaviest defeat in Premier League history.
