🇦🇺 Gerard Healy reveals three-year plan

Brownlow Medallist Gerard Healy has revealed his three-year plan to ‘set the Sherrin free’ and improve the aesthetics of footy – and it includes a radical interchange cap.

“I think the ball movement and the speed of ball movement is one of the things that people really miss,” he told On The Couch.

Some of the potential changes;

  • Reduce rotations to 32 per game

  • Increase the kick length required to pay a mark from 15m to 25/30m

  • Reduce rotations to zero

Healy said: “Get fatigue back in … No rotations. The ball is still going to go quicker.” (Fox)

🏉 Six-again rule amended

Referees will immediately re-start the tackle count when markers are not square or break early at the play-the-ball after changes were made to the new six-again rule established this season.

The ARLC approved the amendment to the rule on Tuesday in a bid to prevent teams from using markers to gain an unfair advantage.

Referees retain the right to issue a penalty and put players in the sin bin for persistent ruck infringements and professional fouls. (nrl.com)

🏉 Sivo told to lay off the weights

Legend has it, on a full moon at Bankwest Stadium, you can still hear the air coming out of Tedesco.

Sivo made headlines in pre-season when reports claimed he had maxed out at squatting 285 kilograms in the Eels gym...only because they couldn’t fit anymore plates on the bar.

And now his coach Brad Arthur has corroborated those stories, revealing just how frightening Sivo is in the club gym.

“We’ve had to really pull back on his weighs because he’s so big and strong, and he doesn’t carry any body fat,” Arthur said.

“He’s still running around at 110 (kilograms) or 111 each week at training as a winger, so that’s very imposing, very strong in the gym.

🏉 Ex-Warriors Stephen Kearney linked to Brisbane Broncos role

Barely a week after being abruptly sacked by Warriors management, Kearney has reportedly been looked at for an assistant coaching role at the Broncos, along with Kevin Walters. (nine)

Dustin Johnson (-19) won the 2020 Travelers Championship, which included his lowest ever round on tour (61). He's now won at least one tournament for the last 13 seasons. (6th-longest streak ever).

Johnson now has 21 career PGA Tour wins, which puts him 2nd over the last 15 seasons. First is Tiger with 36.

⛳️ Rocket Mortgage Classic: The PGA Tour heads north to Detroit Golf Club for the Rocket Mortgage Classic this week.

It’s another huge field of 156 players, however, it is thinned-out with only 10 of the top 20 FEDEX ranked players and non of the World Top 5 due to play.

Leaving the beefed up Bryson DeChambeau clear favourite (7.5).

Fewer than half of those teeing-up in the opening round contested last year's maiden tournament, meaning most will not be familiar with the course.

Accuracy is key: Four of the five players who recorded the best Greens in Regulation stats in 2019, finished no lower than tied-fifth.
