🏉 The NRL All Star game has been rocked by more high-profile withdrawals just a week out from the game.

After Josh Addo-Carr withdrew from the Indigenous All Stars squad on Friday, Maori players Daejarn Asi, Joseph Manu, Starford Toa, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak have all pulled out too.

🏉 An NRL player who witnessed Saturday night's fracas between superstars Latrell Mitchell and Jack Wighton has described the incident as a "massive over-reaction" by police.

The pair were arrested after a scuffle outside a Canberra nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning as they were celebrating Wighton's 30th birthday.

"The incident between Latrell and Jack was nothing - they were just mates who had a bit to drink mucking around, but then cops came from everywhere - about four of them jumped on Latrell and forced him to the ground and twisted his arms behind his back."

He wasn't resisting and was screaming at them to stop hurting him."It was very distressing to watch... it was a massive over-reaction." - unnamed NRL player.

The pair are due to face court a week before the NRL season kicks off after being arrested and charged over an incident outside a Canberra nightclub.

🥛 ICYMI: GWS Giants rookie Jason Gillbee stunned his teammates and left the team's dietician flabbergasted by revealing that he's been drinking only milk instead of water for the last three years.

🏀 The Perth Wildcats have returned to the NBL finals in thrilling style (96-84), defeating title favourites Sydney by just enough to sneak into the sixth and final spot.

Perth entered the match knowing only a victory by at least 11 points would get them into the finals. The Kings hadn’t lost by that much all season.

🏏 Fresh from his Big Bash League heroics for the title-winning Perth Scorchers, calls are growing for Ashton Turner to return to the Australian frame – even as captain.

Turner led Perth to back-to-back BBL crowns, and was named man of the match in both his side’s finals as the Scorchers claimed their fifth title on Saturday night.

There’s been just three T20 captains for Australia – with Michael Clarke, George Bailey and Aaron Finch all taking the reins at some point.

Curry immediately received an X-ray, which came back negative, the team announced. He will get an MRI next.

The 32-year-old achieved the feat in a Pakistan Super League exhibition match for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday. It's now been achieved 10 times in the mens game.
