Black Monday strikes again.

• The Monday after the regular NFL season ends is known as “Black Monday.”

• It usually marks the firings of coaches and team executives whose teams didn’t make the playoffs.

• The Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers all fired their head coaches.

🔫 Washington Redskins had already sacked their coach but had to get rid of somebody on Black Monday, so it was the team president Bruce Allen who was in the firing line.

Updates: Former Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has emerged as a top candidate as new head coach.

🔫 New York Giants have fired head coach Pat Shurmur.

Updates: The Giants (along with the Panthers and Browns) have requested permission to interview Patriots Offensive Co-ordinator Josh McDaniels

🔫 Cleveland Browns fired head coach Freddie Kitchens after Week 17

Updates: Requested to interview Patriots OC Josh McDaniels (along with everyone else), he is a native and a favourite of Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam, also wanting to interview Ravens OC Greg Roman and 49ers DC Robert Saleh.

🔫 Carolina Panthers fired head coach Ron Rivera on Dec. 3 after Week 13.

Updates: The Panthers reportedly interviewed former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, plan to interview Baylor coach Matt Rhule...and you've guessed it, our old pal and Patriots OC, Josh McDaniels.
