🗞 Hatched a plan

G'day sports fans,

With the Titans breaking their 364-day winless streak, I took a look at some of the longest losing streaks in sport.

EPL: Sunderland 2002/03 season with 15 straight defeats

NFL: Detroit Lions Lose 19 Straight Games (2007/09 - 643 days)

PGA: Over 260 Events Later, Charlie Wi is Still Searching for his First PGA Tour win (2002 -present). He's missed nearly 40% of the cuts. As Happy Gilmore taught us, you can still win money without winning golf tournaments. And Wi has made over $10 million on the PGA Tour.

Tyzone scores Stradbroke as Eagle Farm track a talking point again

On a day when the rock-hard Eagle farm track was a major talking point, Tyzone pulled off a plan that was 12 months in the making to give the father and son training team of Toby and Trent Edmonds their first Group I win.

Right from the moment that former north Queensland gelding Tyzone finished runner-up behind Trekking in last year’s Stradbroke, a plot was hatched for him to go one better in the 2020 Stradbroke.

Both Edmonds were full of emotion after also collecting their first Group I when Tyzone ($14) prevailed in a driving finish over roughie Madam Rouge ($51) with Niccanova ($14) finishing third.

“That’s big – 12 months ago he ran second and he has been carrying big weights since, we knew when he got back to handicap conditions he was going to be hard to beat at the right distance,” Toby Edmonds said.

“Trent and I work good together and he’s a great kid – it’s just bloody good.”

Trent Edmonds wiped back tears as he told how the training team was confident of snaring the Stradbroke as they always felt Tyzone was going better than at the same stage last year.

“From the time he ran second last year we hatched a plan,” Trent Edmonds said. (racenet)

"Hey guys I've decided to retire from fighting," he said on Twitter on Sunday.

"Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it's been!"

Harden reportedly blew $1.43 million at one of Houston’s establishments.

🎾 Novak Djokovic: US Open coronavirus protocols 'extreme'

World number one Novak Djokovic has called the coronavirus safety protocols, planned in order for the US Open to take place, "extreme".

The hard-court Grand Slam tournament is scheduled to start on 31 August at Flushing Meadows in New York.

"We would not have access to Manhattan, we would have to sleep in hotels at the airport, to be tested twice or three times per week," said Djokovic.

"Also, we could bring one person to the club which is really impossible."

The 33-year-old, speaking to Prva TV in his native Serbia, added: "I mean, you need your coach, then a fitness trainer, then a physiotherapist."

World number two Rafael Nadal said on Thursday he currently has little desire to travel to New York to defend his US Open title. (BBC)
