🏏Australia defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets in a rain-hit first ODI in Pallekele.
Chasing a target of 301, Australia were 72 for two at one stage before rain had interrupted proceedings. The play resumed with an improvised target of 282 runs in 44 overs, but Australia chased it down with nine balls to spare, thanks to fifties from Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith.
Maxwell top-scored with an unbeaten 80 while Smith returned to form with a fine 53 off 60 deliveries.
Earlier, Wicketkeeper Kushal Mendis anchored Sri Lanka's batting performance to help their team reach 300-7 against Australia in Tuesday's first one-day international.

Australia became the 31st team to book their place at the 2022 World Cup after beating Peru on penalties in an intercontinental play-off in Qatar.
Goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne, who replaced Mat Ryan just before the shootout for his third cap, was the hero, saving Alex Valera's final kick.
This will be Australia's fifth World Cup in a row, having qualified every time since 2006.
They will be in Group D alongside holders France, Denmark, and Tunisia.
"I knew I was going to score. It was the only way to say thank you to Australia, from me and my family.
“My family fled Sudan because of war, I was born in a hut. For Australia to take us in and re-settle us, it gave me and my family a chance of life." - Awer Mabil.

🐴 Racing
🐴 You may remember we joined the Queensland Rogues team in The Racing League.
I haven't done a great job of keeping up with it, to be honest. But one of our horses is set to run today.
Hot Spring Gold has been accepted for the 1350m Class 3 First asset Management HCP at Doomben. This race is scheduled for 4.03pm.
Midweek racing at Doomben has free entry for all patrons.
🐴 Nature Strip, the first Australian-trained victor at Royal Ascot since Black Caviar in 2012, won by four and a half lengths from Twilight Calls with 200-1 shot Acklam Express and Mooneista close up in third and fourth respectively.
"It's pretty special to bring a horse all this way and compete against the best in the world and to win the way he did. It was breathtaking," said Chris Waller, who also trained record-breaking mare Winx.

🐴 Baaeed and Coroebus were the other big winners on a thrilling opening day at Royal Ascot.
Baaeed extended his unbeaten run to eight in the Queen Anne Stakes, while 2,000 Guineas winner Coroebus landed the St James's Palace Stakes.
The world's top-rated horse Baaeed got the meeting off to a brilliant start with a classy win in the Queen Anne Stakes.
The four-year-old, with Jim Crowley riding for trainer William Haggas, beat Real World by one and three quarter lengths.
Baaeed, sent off as the 1.15 favourite, justified his short odds.
"It doesn't get any easier than that. Everything went like clockwork," said Crowley.
"It's the pinnacle. You could spend your whole life waiting for a horse like this to come along."
