ON THIS DAY: 2000 Australia clinches first Tri Nations Rugby Series with a 19-18 win over South Africa in Durban; Wallabies centre Stirling Mortlock lands four penalties and a conversion.

π Parramatta kept their top four hopes alive and left Brisbane's finals aspirations in jeopardy as the Broncos failed to overcome the early loss of Adam Reynolds to crash to a 53-6 defeat.
Pictures of the Broncos' sheds after their latest defeat painted a grim but accurate reflection of their late-season demise.
The Broncos sat in fourth on the ladder at the end of round 19 but, after losing four of their last five games, are clinging to eighth and will slip to ninth if the Raiders beat the Sea Eagles in Canberra on Saturday afternoon.

π Lynn signs with Strikers, and will play both BBL, and UAE leagues: The BBL's all-time leading run-scorer and Cricket Australia have reached a landmark deal that allows the former Bash Brother to play in both T20 leagues this summer. (cricket)

π΄ Sydney's champion trainer Chris Waller capped a memorable 2012-22 season by snaring a record 12th Bart Cummings Medal at the NSW Racing's Night of Champions awards at Royal Randwick on Thursday night.

The Greatest Punters alive (probably).
Two bets on the Parra-Broncos game, one $23.0 winner, which some of you got on. π€
Also, we have a FAT $128.40 punt going on to its last leg. Never wanted Melbourne to win before now!
Our spies (Luke in the office) suggested Thriller Strike is a talented dog who gets out well but then tends to wait for other dogs to run with.
In his last effort before this, he did exactly that but didn't manage to catch up with the others, finishing a distant fourth.
This time, it played out exactly as we'd hoped. He went out, waited for everyone else, and then ran on again ($26.0 place). We'll take every day of the week.
We've got picks up for Storm v Roosters, Penrith v Warriors & EPL and will be adding Sunday fixtures today.
