🏉 The NRL has handed down the first-ever suspension to a coach, slapping Ricky Stuart with a one-game ban.

Stuart will be forced to sit out this week's round 22 clash with St George Illawarra and will be unable to communicate with his team.

He has also been fined $25,000. The Raiders announced he and the club accept the sanctions.

The sanctions come after Stuart's post-match spray where Panthers player Jaeman Salmon was labelled “a weak-gutted dog.”

🇦🇺 Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps' two-match ban for his high hit on Brisbane's Callum Ah Cheehas been upheld at the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night, in a mega blow to the Blues' top-eight hopes.

Cripps tried to overturn his suspension for a shot on Ah Chee in Carlton's loss to Brisbane at the Gabba on Sunday, which had been graded by the AFL's match review officer as careless conduct, high impact, and high contact.

Ah Chee was concussed and substituted out of the game, with the 24-year-old missing five training days and one to two matches.

🏉 Leicester winger Nemani Nadolo is to leave the Premiership champions to join Waratahs in time for the new Australian Super Rugby season in February.

Nadolo previously represented Australia U20 five times in 2008, then signed for the Waratahs, and without playing, moved to France.

⛳️ The Australian Open has added some extra star-power for its return edition with major winner Hannah Green committing to play - but there’s still no word on Cameron Smith.
