The King is Back: McGregor beats Cerrone in 40 seconds

Irishman McGregor, 31, came out on top after one of the most spectacular performances of his career.
Referee Herb Dean stepped in and waved off the contest inside a minute after a series of blows from McGregor.
“I let that left hand go from the chamber...15 months outside the octagon [I was] a little eager,” McGregor said during his post-fight press conference. He credited his win to a commitment to his training, which he says wasn’t as focused before the Khabib loss.
The victory gave McGregor a knockout in his third different weight class. (SI)
🎾 Australian Open

We haven’t had a singles winner in 42 years. But Barty isn’t feeling the pressure to end title drought.
Ash Barty is everywhere right now.
Her face is on the back and front page of every paper in the country. It is on billboards, trams and television commercials. And she is now one of the biggest drawcards at this year’s Australian Open.
“My face is everywhere a little bit, isn't it? I'm a bit sick of it to be honest,” Barty said with a laugh at her final media appearance ahead of the Australian Open.
🎾 Serena Williams is the firm favourite to win the Australian Open as she again bids for a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title.
🎾 In the men's event: Old guard Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are still expected to be the men to beat in Melbourne, while Britain's former world number one Andy Murray is missing because of a pelvic injury.

🏏 Cricket
Australia started the series with a history-making win. India finished it with the trophy

India have ended Australia’s hopes of back-to-back ODI series wins in the country with a seven-wicket victory in Bangalore despite a batting masterclass from Steve Smith.
Smith scored 131 (on the 3-year anniversary of his last ODI ton) in Australia’s 9-286 on Sunday night, before a Rohit Sharma century saw India chase down the target with 15 balls to spare
...Thanks to a century from Rohit Sharma and a dashing 89 from Virat Kohli. and take the three-match series 2-1.

It was a tale of Two collapses and an umpiring shocker!
The Heat were cruising at 0-84 (chasing 165, after the Renegades posted 164/6) when Chris Lynn fell for 41 off 15 to Andrew Fekete. AB de Villiers (2) and Matt Renshaw (0) fell on back-to-back balls in the next over
They stabilised from there to reach 3-112, only for Sam Heazlett (56) and Jimmy Peirson (0) to fall in consecutive deliveries from Samit Patel, before Joe Burns (14) was run out in the same over. (Foxsports)
🏈 NFL
NFL conference champonship weekend is here for the 2020 playoffs.

The Titans rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Chiefs 35-32 in the teams' wild Week 10 game in Nashville, the last time Kansas City has lost a game.
The Chiefs get the rematch at home, and they know it won't be easy after the Titans fearlessly knocked off the Patriots in New England and the Ravens in Baltimore.
Kansas City should be able to go up a gear in the second half to keep the game just out of reach for Henry and Ryan Tannehill.
Average score prediction: Chiefs win 34-27 but fail to cover the spread

The Packers got blasted by the 49ers 37-8 during the Sunday night Week 12 meeting in San Francisco. In that game, Aaron Rodgers threw for only 104 yards on 33 attempts and was sacked five times.
Green Bay didn't have much of a running game to support him and fell into a big hole, 23-0 by halftime.
Rodgers will do the best he can with little skill help beyond Adams and Jones, facing defensive challenges on every level led by Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander and Richerd Sherman.
Garoppolo is loaded by comparison and will see many more things available to exploit in the middle of the field.
Average score prediction: 38-24 to the 49ers
🏉 Rugby
Saracens relegated from Premiership at end of 2019-20 season for salary cap breaches

They've dominated European rugby in recent years, it couldn't happen to a nicer club (wink). (rugbypass)
Sarries had already been deducted 35 points for the current Premiership campaign and fined £5.4m for three seasons' spending above the cap.
The club will finish this season before entering the Championship. (BBC)
🏉 The Waratahs have secured a first-up pre-season victory by coming from behind to beat a rusty Highlanders outfit 40-21 in Sydney on Friday. (rugbypass).
🏉 The Reds, fielding a close to full strength team, ran away with a 57-5 win against albeit an understrength Rebels squad, with Filipi Daugunu showcasing how to finish with five meat pies. (TheRoar)
