Hoodoo Continues

⛹🏻‍♀️ Australia’s horror New Zealand hoodoo has rolled on, with the Diamonds suffering a record 14-goal loss to the Silver Ferns on Sunday.

It’s Australia’s worst Constellation Cup loss in more than a decade – and comes at the exact venue of that 19-goal horror show at TSB Bank Arena in Wellington in 2010.

The 64-50 result ensures Diamonds coach Stacey Marinkovich slumps to an eighth loss in just nine games at the helm in New Zealand - and is the highest regular time score ever set by the Silver Ferns against Australia.

The result also goes down as the second-worst loss for Australia in Constellation Cup history.

🐴 Caulfield Cup winner Duke De Sessa's most likely next start will be at Flemington – but it won't be in the Melbourne Cup.

Duke De Sessa, now with a taste for success, will be set for the $3 million Group 1 Champion's Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on November 9.

In the Everest, Giga Kick ($15.92 BSP) traded at $1.03 before being beaten on line by Bella Nipotina ($8.62 BSP).

🥊 icymi: A classy Tim Tszyu conceded “the better man won tonight” after suffering a shock third-round TKO loss to IBF junior middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev in Orlando on Sunday.

Tszyu was no match for the undefeated Russian, who knocked him down three times in the second round alone before going on to finish the job in the third, leaving the Australian’s corner with no choice but to throw the towel in.

It left Tszyu’s career at crossroads and while it was obviously a lot to process when speaking in the ring after the defeat, the 29-year-old was all class with his response to the loss.

Murtazaliev was hoisted onto the shoulders of one his team and was heard shouting “Who’s your daddy now?” after taking down the son of the legendary Kostya Tszyu.

🏍️ MotoGP: Australia had a home rider take their maiden world championship podium at Phillip Island for a second straight year on Sunday, with Sydney teenager Senna Agius finishing third in the intermediate-class Moto2 category after storming through from 13th on the grid.

Mam was hospitalised following the two-car collision with an Uber driver, and The Daily Telegraph is reporting Michael Maguire is set to clamp down on player conduct ahead of his first season at the helm of the Broncos.

AFLW WRAP: Geelong put a dent in Brisbane's top-two hopes with an upset 10-point win.

Not even a late flurry of Lions goals could prevent the 7.5 (47) to 5.7 (37) Cats victory on a sunny GMHBA Stadium.

North Melbourne's cruised to a dominant 51-point victory against Essendon, putting them in the box seat for a maiden AFLW minor premiership.

Adelaide firmed up a top-four spot with a comfortable 43-point win over Collingwood in a match that was in some danger of being halted before it even began.

Liverpool Top

⚽️ EPL WRAP: Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with victory over Chelsea at Anfield as manager Arne Slot's outstanding start continued.

The Dutchman is the first Liverpool boss to win 10 of his first 11 games, this latest triumph sending them a point clear of Manchester City.

31 - Man City have now gone 31 matches without losing in the Premier League. A new Club record.

John Stones' dramatic stoppage-time winner sent Manchester City to the top of the Premier League with a come-from-behind 2-1 win at battling Wolves.

As the City players celebrated, the linesman raised his flag to indicate offside, with Bernardo Silva stood in front of Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa as the ball went into the net.

The VAR reviewed the offside decision, and then recommended referee Kavanagh check the pitchside monitor.

Replays showed Silva ducking and not in Sa's line of sight, so Kavanagh awarded the goal.
