Piastri’s Maiden Win

🏎️ Oscar Piastri has become Australia's fifth Formula 1 race winner, securing his first grand prix victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The win was not without controversy, as McLaren teammate Lando Norris almost snatched the victory following a strategic call that favoured him. Piastri managed to reclaim the lead in the final laps.
Despite the momentous achievement, Piastri's celebration was subdued.
On lap 49, Norris was informed of the situation and told to give the place to Piastri "at his convenience" before the end of the race.
On lap 61, Norris was then told by his race engineer: "Ok Lando, 10 laps to go. We think both cars are using their tyres too much. Just remember every single Sunday morning meeting we have."
Norris was repeatedly asked to slow and let Piastri back past, and reminded of his responsibility to the team, but he refused to do so until just two laps from the end.
Reflecting on the race, Piastri said, "It was well-executed by the team. I put myself in the right position at the start... my pace wasn’t as fast as I would’ve liked in the last stint but I was still in the right position to make it happen."
Behind Maclaren, in a race full of see-sawing action, old rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen collided as they disputed third place.
