Premier League ‘hypocrite’ begged fans to isolate – then hosted a sex party with escorts

Premier League star Kyle Walker ignored the virus lockdown by hosting a sex party with a pal and two call girls at his ($A16,000) rented luxury apartment.

One of the escorts said the Manchester City and England ace invited them for a three-hour sex session — a day before he urged supporters to follow advice to stay home to help the NHS.

Walker, who issued a grovelling apology last night, now faces a big fine from his club for ignoring health and social distancing guidelines. (Fox)

Cahill: 'It's really tough to watch' the A-League

Tim Cahill has admitted he finds it hard to watch the A-League at the moment, as the league suffers from a myriad of off-field issues.

Cahill only spent 1 of his 21 years as a professional in the A-League, which wasn't a total success.

"It's really tough to watch the domestic league at present," Cahill said.

"Unfortunately, it's having a few problems with finances among clubs. It would be great to see the A-League flourish with many of its players in the national team.

Only four of the latest 23-man Socceroos squad currently play in the A-League

"The game is in a little bit of a crisis. Players of teams and coaches are leaving their posts because they can't afford to pay the wages until something can be sorted out with the PFA. (fbtl)

Cahill was also adamant that he'll definitely be a coach in the future, but is biding his time after a spell working with Everton's academy set-up.

Pizza-loving horse Nettoyer claims Group 1 Doncaster Mile

Nettoyer races on a diet of pizza and chicken schnitzels. Her trainer, Wendy Roche, had never prepared a Group 1 winner. Her jockey, James Innes Junior, had never ridden one.

But here they were, Roche and Innes, combining with Nettoyer to hold off the might of the Chris Waller stable, a trainer with 110 Group 1 winners, in the $1.5 million The Star Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Royal Randwick .

“I can’t believe it. I’ve told everyone she would win today and she’s won.”

“I am flat out getting a ride most days. The fact I can ride light and get an opportunity like this, it is just unbelievable,’’ Innes said.

“It is very surreal. It still hasn’t sunken in and I don’t think it will for a little while.’’

In an epic finish, Nettoyer ($41) came with an irresistible surge wide out to beat Star Of The Seas ($20) by a half length with Brandenburg ($7.50) a nose away third.

Melody Belle to back-up in Queen Elizabeth Stakes

Headache for TAB after punters offered massive quaddie cash out amounts

V'landys optimistic about June 1 restart, Pearce says 'definitely' by July

His fellow ARL Commissioner, Wayne Pearce, was also on radio on Saturday, telling ABC Grandstand he was "reservedly optimistic" about a June 1 restart.

"July 1 in my opinion we'll definitely have the competition up and running. By early June, I am quietly optimistic about that," Pearce said.

The NRL season would finish in December if they choose to restart play with State of Origin.

If the competition restarted in June, he said each team would play each other at least once and potentially add a few local derbies to the draw if there was room for more than a 15-round format, as well as the finals and State of Origin series.

"I don't want to get too excited because we need these figures to continue to be on the downward spiral and if they remain at four or five percent for the next two weeks there's no reason whatsoever we can't restart the game - V'landys added. (NRL.com)

NBA planning HORSE challenge to fill hiatus

A staple of American driveways, a H-O-R-S-E competition among top NBA players could be coming to TV screens in the near future, says sportscasting giant ESPN.

The NBA and ESPN are finalising the details, with players possibility participating from their home gyms via an online stream.

In a typical game of two or more players, if a competitor makes a shot, the competitor to follow has to make the identical shot or earn a letter in the word “horse”.

LaMelo Ball reportedly buys Illawarra Hawks

LaMelo Ball clearly enjoyed his time with the Illawarra Hawks with the 18-year-old reportedly becoming the new owner of the club.

"We own the team. It's a done deal," Jackson (Ball's Manager) told ESPN. "Melo loves the Illawarra fans. He loves that community. They opened their arms to him. They made us feel like we are at home.

We're going to put the organisation on steroids, building it into a program that guys want to play for."

The Australian NBL said it was working with Simon Stratford, the current license holder of the team, on "a number of options for what we hope will be a fruitful outcome for Illawarra and the NBL." (ESPN)

The AFL's plan

AFL clubs will be given at least a three-week "pre-season" but no practice matches before a resumption of play in 2020.

With competition suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak, AFL general manager of football operations Steve Hocking has also told AFL.com.au that a rule allowing extra interchange players would be considered.

"What was put forward was three to four weeks pre-season. If there was a postponement that went to later in the year, then the four weeks would kick in, but it is not going to be any later than that.

The AFL has declared it would not consider a return to matches until June, but it is likely the season suspension will continue long beyond that month.

Chairman writes to a million-plus: Footy will beat COVID

AFL Commission chairman tells fans 'we will make it through this together'

Richard Goyder has written to the one million-plus members of AFL clubs, assuring them that "18 AFL clubs and 14 AFLW teams" will return to playing "when it is the right time to be back".

"While this is one of the biggest challenges to face the community, this is also one of the biggest challenges to face football in more than 160 years," Goyder wrote. (AFL)

In an email to fans issued on Tuesday, Goyder also promised that state leagues and community football would be protected under the AFL's plans to emerge from the coronavirus-enforced shutdown.

While the League chief executive Gillon McLachlan said on the merger talk, "We are going into this with 18 clubs and we will come out with 18 clubs," he told SEN radio on Tuesday. (AFL)

Justin Langer: Value in behind-closed-doors games

Australia coach Justin Langer says playing cricket behind closed doors could be a solution to restarting the game once the coronavirus pandemic ends.

"When you started off playing underage cricket, there's no crowds there.

"Maybe your mum and dad came and watched, or your brother and sister were bored and playing on the swings somewhere else.

"The Australian cricket team are so fortunate to play in front of big crowds every time we play," Langer told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"But for the love of the game, and for still being able to entertain people through TV sets or radio, then there's value in that.

"Yes it's different, but we'll never, ever, ever take for granted how lucky we are, ever again. We are so lucky in what we do." (BBC)
