🤔 Premiership winner Brandon Smith has revealed the All Blacks halfback, TJ Perenara has been sounding him out since February in attempt to learn how NRL hookers prepare.

“He messages a bloke like myself in February and he was saying he was going to make the code switch,” Smith said on Sunday Night with Matty Johns.

🇪🇺 12 football giants ‘sign up’ for European Super League in seismic shift for the sport. Multiple outlets said six clubs from England (Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham), three from Spain (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid) and three from Italy (Juventus, AC Milan and Inter) had either signed up for or expressed interest in the international competition.

The dozen clubs have been trying to grab other big teams, such as Germany’s Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and France’s PSG, and Man City to join their breakaway group, but they’re yet to agree to the radical plan.

The announcement was said to be planned for Sunday (Monday AEDT), in an attempt to overshadow UEFA’s upcoming announcement of an expanded Champions League. (Fox)

🏆 Brilliant Bulls charge to ninth Sheffield Shield title: Queensland complete a comprehensive victory over NSW in the final to win the 2020-21 Sheffield Shield title.

Marnus Labuschagne proved the difference between the two sides and was an unsurprising pick as the player of the final following his incredible first-innings 192, a knock that now stands out even more given no other player raised their bat for the entire match.

🏏 Spectacular batting from Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers propelled Indian Premier League leaders Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 38-run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen took his first win of the year in a chaotic, incident-strewn Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton fought back to second after a rare error.

Rain at the start led to one of the most topsy-turvy races in memory as the treacherous conditions caught out the vast majority of drivers at one time or another.

There was an early safety car and later a red flag, after a massive crash involving Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas and Williams's George Russell, rivals for a seat at the world champions in 2022.

Even Verstappen almost lost his win, when he half-spun at the restart following the red flag, but he managed to collect the car and streak off into the distance as Hamilton fought to regain lost ground.
