Nissanka hits maiden ton as hosts cruise to big win: Australia struggled to make inroads with the ball as a record second-wicket partnership by Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis saw Sri Lanka take a 2-1 ODI series lead.

The pair put on 170 for the second wicket before Mendis was forced to retire hurt with what appeared to be bad cramps, as Nissanka played his finest hand in coloured clothing for Sri Lanka and eclipsed his previous ODI best of 75.

It marked the first time Sri Lanka have chased down more than 290 after being inserted in by a top-tier ODI team at their nation's premier cricket stadium.   

Finch (62 off 85) earlier posted his second half-century of the tour but it was Travis Head's late-surging 70 from 65 that underpinned the Steve Smith-less side's fightback following a stumbling start to them reach to reach 6-291. (cricket)

🏉 New South Wales Coach Brad Fittler has made several changes to his squad for Game Two of the 2022 Ampol State of Origin series to be played at Optus Stadium on Sunday, June 26:

  • Jack Wighton is unavailable for selection due to covid protocols.

  • Bulldogs five-eighth Matt Burton has been called into the squad. 

  • Siosifa Talakai has also been named in the squad which includes teammate Nicho Hynes, who was 18th Man for Game One.

  • Having missed out on the series opener, Manly lock Jake Trbojevic will return to the squad for Game Two. 

  • Jordan McLean is another of the new faces of the squad. (NRL)

🏊🏼‍♀️Australia currently sits second on the medal table at the FINA World Swimming Championships Budapest 2022 with two gold and two silver medals.

Elijah Winnington (what a name) won the 400m freestyle, while Aus were too strong for everyone in the Women's 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

🏒 Game 1 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final was a back-and-forth thriller, with the Colorado Avalanche winning a 4-3 contest in overtime over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Game 2 was ... not nearly as thrilling, with the Avs jumping out to an early lead and then pouring it on en route to a 7-0 win.

The series is 2-0 Colorado as the clubs head to Tampa for the next two contests. 

England were comfortably beaten by 14-man Barbarians (52-21) in their final game before touring Australia this summer.
