🏉 Brisbane and Queensland fullback Reece Walsh will miss the third State of Origin match after being handed a three-match ban for his profane outburst at referee Chris Butler during round 17.

In a highly-emotional, marathon hearing spanning over four hours, Walsh was found guilty by a panel.

"Obviously I know that I'm a role model to young kids in the community and I'm going to continue to work hard and be better in those areas that I need to get better at." - Walsh

The suspension of the in-form Walsh is a blow to the Maroons' hopes of sealing a rare series whitewash in Sydney on July 12 and pits Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and AJ Brimson against one another in a battle for the coveted fullback jersey.

Walsh's predecessor Kalyn Ponga has already ruled himself out of the Origin series to focus on club duties with Newcastle. (NRL)

In comparison, the fixtures for the 2019 World Cup in England and the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand were released more than 12 months in advance.

🏏 SECOND ASHES TEST SGM with DABBLE

We’re one from one for the Ashes so far, after the first test $8.0 SGM landed with ease.

Smith won’t want to miss out again, we’re going with him as top 1st innings Aussie run scorer.

Same goes for Labuschange (20+ runs), and while Captain Pat’s batting got the headlines, his bowling kept Australia in it (2+ wickets)

⚽️ West Ham have rejected a bid of £90m from Treble winners Manchester City for captain Declan Rice.

City's offer was thought to have included an £80m initial payment but is short of the £100m the Hammers want.

Arsenal are expected to make a third bid for the 24-year-old England midfielder.

🏏 England have included Josh Tongue in an all-pace attack [Robinson, Broad, Anderson, Tongue] on a green-tinged Lord's pitch for the second Ashes Test against Australia.

"We turned up at Lord's and saw there was quite a lot of grass on the pitch," said England captain Ben Stokes.

"We thought we would get more out of our fourth bowler being Josh Tongue."
