🗞 Strike the first blow
G'day sports fans,
Classic Origin: ‘‘Am I disappointed about the fight? No, I just wish there were more people involved in it. It was six or seven on one at one point, wasn’t it? And then Jenno (Jennings) ran in about ninth. They (Queensland players involved) didn’t just pop up out of the ground.’’ Stuart says he wasn’t disappointed with the Blues’ players getting involved in the brawl, instead lamenting there weren’t more involved initially to help Greg Bird who was at first set upon by several Queenslanders.

🏏 Australia cruised to a 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the opening T20I of the three-match series after a dismal collapse from the hosts.
In a rain-affected first match of Australia's tour, which will encompass a series in all three formats, Sri Lanka looked to be in a strong position on 100-1.
However, from there they lost nine wickets for just 28 further runs, Josh Hazlewood (4-16) and Mitchell Starc (3-26) ripping through Sri Lanka's line-up.
The rain could not stop captain Aaron Finch (61 not out) and David Warner (70no) from powering the tourists to the meager target with 36 balls remaining. Finch finished things off with an uppercut for six. (0-134)
Sean Abbott and Peter Handscomb will depart Australia's extended touring party in Sri Lanka due to injury and family reasons (cricket)
