Champion jockey James McDonald says there are three standouts in a Caulfield Guineas lacking depth and he's riding one of them.
π΄ Racing NSW chief steward Marc Van Gestel will conduct a race-eve track inspection of a sodden Royal Randwick this morning.
Randwick was rated a heavy 10 late on Thursday after receiving plenty of rain during the day. The forecast is a little more encouraging for today and early Saturday morning.
Van Gestel conceded there are some "obvious concerns" for the 10-race Silver Eagle program on Saturday.
"We will do a track inspection on Friday and have a good look at the surface,'' Van Gestel said.
"It looks like we might have some respite on Friday but there is more rain predicted for Saturday afternoon.

β³οΈ LIV Golf players will not be able to earn world ranking points at upcoming events in Bangkok and Jeddah, Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) has said.
LIV Golf said on Wednesday that it had agreed to a "strategic alliance" with the Middle East and Africa (Mena) Tour to allow its players to earn points.

π Lewis Hamilton says it is "imperative" that suitable punishments are meted out for any team found to have broken Formula 1's budget cap.
The FIA will reveal on Monday which teams exceeded it last season after delaying the publication.
Hamilton said: "I like to think that if it's being delayed, it's because it's being taken very seriously.
"It would be bad for the sport if action wasn't taken if there was a breach."
Hamilton's Mercedes and Ferrari both said at last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix that it was an open secret that the two teams broke the cost cap last season.
And it is widely expected within the sport that Red Bull and Aston Martin will be found not to have complied in 2021 when the results are published.
Verstappen can win the title this weekend if he wins the race and Sainz doesn't come second.

"I would love to bring a team here at some point. That would be amazing. I know Adam is in Abu Dhabi right now, I believe," "But he probably sees every interview and transcript that comes through from NBA players.
"So, I want the team here, Adam. Thank you."

"There's some anxiety and nerves at the same time. It is the last one," Messi said in an interview with Star Plus.
