West Ham 0-2 Newcastle: C Wilson (56'), Hendrick (87') - Debutants Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick both scored as Newcastle made a winning start to the 2020-21 Premier League season against an uninspiring West Ham.

West Bromwich Albion 0-3 Leicester: City Castagne (56'), Vardy (74', 84') - Jamie Vardy scored a second-half penalty double as Leicester condemned West Brom to a disappointing return to the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Everton: Calvert-Lewin (55') - Dominic Calvert-Lewin's brilliant header ensured new-look Everton made a flying start to the Premier League season with victory at Tottenham.

Alex Morgan - Tottenham's new USA striker who 'transcends her sport'

United States striker Alex Morgan - an iconic figure in women's football - has joined Women's Super League side Tottenham Hotspur on a deal for the 2020-21 season.

US Open 2020: Naomi Osaka beats Victoria Azarenka to win third Grand Slam title

Naomi Osaka demonstrated her growing maturity to fight back against Victoria Azarenka in a compelling US Open final and claim her third Grand Slam title.

Japanese fourth seed Osaka, 22, won 1-6 6-3 6-3 for her second US Open title.

Osaka was overwhelmed in the first set and in danger of trailing 3-0 in the second but then won 10 of the next 12 games to seize the momentum.

The Belarusian, 31, in her first major final since 2013, was broken for 5-3 in the decider before Osaka served out.

"I don't want to play you in any more finals, I didn't really enjoy that, it was a really tough match for me," Osaka jokingly told Azarenka.

Live US Open 2020: Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev set for New York final

German fifth seed Alexander Zverev says "the two best players in the world" are contesting the US Open men's final when he plays second seed Dominic Thiem.

The pair are close friends and both aiming for a maiden Grand Slam title when they meet.

Zverev, 23, is competing in his first major final, while Austria's Thiem, 27, has lost his previous three finals.

"It's huge pressure for both of us. We have been working very hard for a long time to win a Slam," Thiem said.

The final at Flushing Meadows in New York will end with the crowning of a new Grand Slam champion for the first time since the 2014 US Open, when Croatia's Marin Cilic won.

Tour de France: Tadej Pogacar wins stage 15 in sprint finish with overall leader Primoz Roglic

Tadej Pogacar won stage 15 of the Tour de France to slightly cut Primoz Roglic's lead as defending champion Egan Bernal dropped out of contention.

Pogacar beat yellow jersey Roglic in a sprint to the line and now trails his fellow Slovenian by 40 seconds.

Bernal cracked badly on the final climb to Grand Colombier and lost over seven minutes to slip from third to 13th overall.

He might have picked 16 uncapped players in his squad, but new Wallabies coach Dave Rennie insists his side has been picked for the here and now and to win.

Tuscan Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton claims 90th win after incredible race.

Lewis Hamilton took his 90th career victory by beating Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas in a chaotic, incident-strewn Tuscan Grand Prix.

The race was punctuated by two red flags, the first caused by a pile-up on the pit straight, the second by a high-speed crash for Lance Stroll.
