Anthony Joshua beat Andy Luiz Jnr in a comfortable unanimous decision in Saudi Arabia
Rugby
European Champions Cup - No upsets to speak of this weekend. Perhaps Munster beating a Saracens team missing a number of star names (10-3). Exeter, Racing 92, Toulouse, Leinster & Claremont all won.
Dubai 7s - The Blitzboks beat NZ 15-0 to win the men's tournament. The NZ Black Ferns beat Canada 17-14 in the women's tournament, to become the first back-to-back winners.

🏏 WBBL
Brisbane Heat beat Adelaide Strikers by six wickets in WBBL final at Allan Border Field

The Heat brought up the winning run with 11 balls to spare in front of a sell-out crowd
Beth Mooney dominated with the bat for the Heat with 56 not out from 45 balls
The Strikers had made 7-161 from their 20 overs
🥊 Boxing
Anthony Joshua beats Andy Ruiz Jr by unanimous decision to regain world heavyweight titles

Going into the 12th and final round, Ruiz needed a knockout to pull off another upset but it never came.
The judges scored the fight 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 to the 30-year-old Briton:
Anthony Joshua has become the unified heavyweight boxing champion for the second time with a win over Andy Ruiz Jr
Andy Ruiz Jr tipped the scales at a whopping 283lbs (128kg)
Joshua may go for another rematch with Ruiz next, or he could face other title rivals like Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder
However, it'll be more likely he'll dodge those and fight the mandatory challengers to his belts and pocket another $50-100m

Jones joins legends of the Open

Matt Jones is a two-time Emirates Australian Open champion.
It augments the title he won at the same venue – his home course – in 2015. Adding to the sense of déjà vu, he had a similar putt of just more than a metre to win the Open today, and lipped it in via the left edge.
“No, I like to make it interesting,” he said, with the wry smile of a satisfied man. “It couldn’t have been an easier putt, this one. The first one (in 2015) I didn’t really know the read. This one I could hit it as firm as I wanted. It could have hit the right edge and it would have gone in. But I thought I’d hit it pretty soft and just trickle in the left side.’’
“To be on the trophy with Jack and Gary and Greg and Adam (Scott), Rory (McIlroy), Jordan (Spieth); to be able to do it twice is very special and something that I’ll be able to look back on later in life and be very proud of,’’ he said.

Latrell Mitchell: NSWRL threaten NRL over anthem allegations, reject Brad Fittler claims
The NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) reportedly placed a gag order on Blues coach Brad Fittler and threatened the NRL after Latrell Mitchell’s revealing interview was published on the governing body’s official website.
Mitchell sat down with NRL.com reporter Tanisha Stanton for a wide-ranging interview that was published as both a feature article and a seven-minute video on Saturday.

Shield game cancelled, but unplayable MCG pitch ‘will be fine for Boxing Day’

MCC officials are confident of producing a good Boxing Day pitch while preparing to ward off attempts to poach the summer’s showpiece Test match after the MCG was plunged into crisis over the weekend.
Cricket Australia (CA) is expecting a “please explain” from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and Western Australia at the MCG was abandoned because of fears over player safety.
In accepting the blame, MCC chief executive Stuart Fox says an internal directive to “push the boundaries” and produce a more lively wicket led to an overcorrection and, ultimately, a dangerous surface.
