The 24-year-old brought up his second Test ton off the penultimate ball of the day and was 103 not out at the close of play in Wellington.

📊 Poll Result: 32.20% of voters in Wednesday’s Sport Journal think it’ll be second time lucky for Brisbane Broncos (4.50) to go one better and win the Grand Final.

“The Buckin' Bronx will go one better this year” - Chris.

“Will have learnt from last years GF loss and will go one better this year.” - Denzil.

In the “other” category, there were a good few shouts for the Roosters.

Manly Sea Eagles (2.02) v Rabbitohs (1.73): The first of the Saturday night double-header will be beamed into the eastern states at a fan-friendly Sunday afternoon slot as these powerhouse clubs look to bounce back after disappointing 2023 campaigns saw them both miss the finals.

Star recruit Jack Wighton’s debut in the famous red and green hoops will have to wait until Round 3 due to a suspension but crucially for the Rabbitohs, Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker are fit.

The Sea Eagles will unveil new recruits Luke Brooks and former Bunnie Jaxson Paulo, however, they will be light on up front with Toafofoa Sipley, Matt Lodge and Josh Schuster all missing from their forward pack.

  • Daly Cherry-Evans has scored a try in each of Manly's last two matches against South Sydney. (4.20)

Roosters (2.35) v Broncos (1.60): Brisbane has preferred young winger Deine Mariner over veteran Corey Oates while Herbie Farnworth’s defection to the Dolphins means Selwyn Cobbo moves into the centres.

The Roosters will start their season without last year’s leading try-scorer and prized recruit Dom Young, with Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii taking over on the wing and Billy Smith into centre. Former Panther Spencer Leniu joins the forward pack

  • Seven of Sydney's last eight matches have gone UNDER the total match points line. (1.90)
